Dave, Marc and a trip to Biloxi

Our cousins Dave and Marc took us on an overnight trip to Biloxi, Ms. to visit the casino's there. We stayed at the Beau Rivage. Afraid we didn't win any money but as Dave was heard to say "Well at least we scared the hell out of them"

We've Landed (at least for awhile)

We made it to the Gulf yesterday. We are staying at the Gulf State Park, Al.

Today we found ourselves at the Magnolia Wildlife Reserve in Atmore, Al. Beautiful place, large pines nestled in amongst the sand dunes put us in mind of many places in Mi.

Today we plan to explore a little more of the park and probably leave for the Gulf tomorrow :)It was about 68 yesterday so on went my shorts while I putzed about the camper...strange looks from our fellow campers...I thought it was from my terribly white legs, but then noticed all the other campers wearing big coats...really? it's 68 degrees! that's tropical in Michigan!

Woke up this morning in Oak Mountain State Park, Alabama which is just a few miles south of Birmingham.  We spent Sunday night in Elizabethtown Ky.  We found our "above freezing" night time temps and this is a gorgeous park so we are planning on spending a couple of nights here.  Found out from watching the news last night that there was a tornado Sunday night just south of Birmingham, so I guess we lucked out on the weather.  Will post some pics of this place after we get settled in as we got in last night after dark.
