We are currently at an Army Corp Camp in Ok., beautiful place. Thanks to Cindy's eagle eye...we had our coffee watching a pair of eagles out the back window of our camper!
Sometime between April 26 and May 4 we made a stop for several days at a casino campground in Sky City, New Mexico.   We took a trip to Acoma Pueblo.  It is the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in North America.  Acoma Pueblo is built atop a sheer-walled, 367-foot sandstone bluff in a valley studded with sacred, towering monoliths. Since 1150 A.D., Acoma Pueblo has earned the reputation as the oldest continuously inhabited community in North America.  The mesa-top settlement is known worldwide for its unique art and rich culture. It was a really interesting and beautiful place where we were able to buy some authentic native American pottery made from clay dug out of the surrounding area.  You can read more here:    http://www.acomaskycity.org/home.html?pgid=1oldest continuously inhabited settlement in North America and the 28th Historic Site designated by the National Trust for Historic Pueblo, New Me

A couple days ago we took a tour of the Glen Canyon Dam. We were able to walk out onto the top of the dam as well as go down into it. Our tour guide grew up in Page and as a kid, the dam was pretty much open to everyone, they had the run of practically the whole thing. He and his friends would spend the whole day on and in the dam. How much fun would that have been to have this as your playground!!

Yesterday Cindy and I took a guided tour of one of the many slot canyons on Navajo land near Page Az. This is a place we will always remember! Its beauty was indescribable! We couldn’t put the camera down, our guide would often throw sand in the air to catch the sunlight for us, which resulted in some remarkable pic’s, we took over a hundred, here are just a few.

After a week in Zion and an overnight trip to Bryce, we drove about an hour back west to Mesquite Nevada for about a week.  Spent the time cleaning all the dust out of the camper and having the outside power washed and just resting :)  Then it was on the road again to Lake Powell outside Page Arizona.
Our campsite up on a hill overlooking Lake Powell and our view from our patio. It is so pretty and peaceful here, we just don't want to leave!

From Vegas it was on to Utah and Zion National Park.  We said we didn't think pics would or could do it justice, I think we were right. Here are some pics of Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. At Zion, you are right down in the canyons looking up at these amazing rock walls and buttes and colors! At Byrce, it is kind of like the Grand Canyon, you are at the top looking down into the canyons at more beautiful colors and "hoodoos". By far, our favorite between the two was Zion!
