We are currently at an Army Corp Camp in Ok., beautiful place. Thanks to Cindy's eagle eye...we had our coffee watching a pair of eagles out the back window of our camper!
Sometime between April 26 and May 4 we made a stop for several days at a casino campground in Sky City, New Mexico.   We took a trip to Acoma Pueblo.  It is the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in North America.  Acoma Pueblo is built atop a sheer-walled, 367-foot sandstone bluff in a valley studded with sacred, towering monoliths. Since 1150 A.D., Acoma Pueblo has earned the reputation as the oldest continuously inhabited community in North America.  The mesa-top settlement is known worldwide for its unique art and rich culture. It was a really interesting and beautiful place where we were able to buy some authentic native American pottery made from clay dug out of the surrounding area.  You can read more here:    http://www.acomaskycity.org/home.html?pgid=1oldest continuously inhabited settlement in North America and the 28th Historic Site designated by the National Trust for Historic Pueblo, New Me

Next stop, somewhere in Arizona!

Guess where we are in Arizona...Who can name the song and the town! Hint: look at the mural behind us.

A couple days ago we took a tour of the Glen Canyon Dam. We were able to walk out onto the top of the dam as well as go down into it. Our tour guide grew up in Page and as a kid, the dam was pretty much open to everyone, they had the run of practically the whole thing. He and his friends would spend the whole day on and in the dam. How much fun would that have been to have this as your playground!!

Yesterday Cindy and I took a guided tour of one of the many slot canyons on Navajo land near Page Az. This is a place we will always remember! Its beauty was indescribable! We couldn’t put the camera down, our guide would often throw sand in the air to catch the sunlight for us, which resulted in some remarkable pic’s, we took over a hundred, here are just a few.

After a week in Zion and an overnight trip to Bryce, we drove about an hour back west to Mesquite Nevada for about a week.  Spent the time cleaning all the dust out of the camper and having the outside power washed and just resting :)  Then it was on the road again to Lake Powell outside Page Arizona.
Our campsite up on a hill overlooking Lake Powell and our view from our patio. It is so pretty and peaceful here, we just don't want to leave!

From Vegas it was on to Utah and Zion National Park.  We said we didn't think pics would or could do it justice, I think we were right. Here are some pics of Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. At Zion, you are right down in the canyons looking up at these amazing rock walls and buttes and colors! At Byrce, it is kind of like the Grand Canyon, you are at the top looking down into the canyons at more beautiful colors and "hoodoos". By far, our favorite between the two was Zion!

From Pahrump Nevada it was on to Las Vegas!!!!  Because of our "adventure" in Pahrump, reservations were not made in Vegas until the last minute, so, we ended up spending 2 weeks in a campground there.  Stayed at Aria for our two free nights one week and then Monte Carlo for free nights the next week.  Breaking up our 5 nights on the strip was probably a good decision this year!
The 2 nights of luxury at Aria was a more than welcome break!

Death Valley, one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen!!! Pics to follow in a day or two but don't think they will do it justice.
From the highest point, Dantes Peak at almost 6000ft to the lowest, Badwater Basin, 282ft below sea level. Death Valley is one of the most inhospitable places and one of the most beautiful places on earth....We will visit this place again!

Thank you one and all for all the well wishes and prayers, love you all!!! Cindy is taking excellent care of me and I feel I'll be back on my feet in no time. Oddly our camper was broken into while we were away and the only thing taken was all my scotch and fireball whiskey! WTH!

Next, we landed in Pahrump, Nevada, and then this happened.....
For those of you who may have noticed our lack of participation/activity on facebook the last few days, here is an update. While this was definitely not on our list of things to do on our travels.... Early Tuesday morning Bruce experienced chest and arm pain that was not relieved with nitro. 911 was called and he was transported from the campground in Pahrump to the hospital in town. As they had no cardiac cath lab there and he was on a nitro drip, he was then transported... by helicopter to a hospital in Vegas. Wednesday morning he had a stent inserted and some ballooning of another artery done. He was released from the hospital this evening and we are currently at Suncoast hotel for the night. Tomorrow if he feels up to it we will make the hour and a half drive back to our camper in Pahrump to recuperate for the next week or so. Happy to say he is doing good, hasn't lost his sense of humor, and is talking of continuing our travels when he is feeling better (we'll see).

Still in Bullhead City, right across the river from Laughlin Nevada.
We took a river boat cruise on the Colorado, it took us past casino row (there's 10) all accessible by water taxi! Cindy said so many slot machines so little time, I said so many buffets so little time!  I believe they said the Pioneer sign is the original one from Las Vegas!

We are taking a much needed break in Bullhead City, AZ. Staying at the county park campground on the river again, beautiful place! Imagine my surprise however, when I stepped outside yesterday and was greeted by this sight......
