Matagorda, Texas!  One of our favorite places.  Matagorda Bay Nature Park Campground is located at the point where Colorado River meets the Gulf of Mexico.

Below is a picture of our camper backed up to the Colorado River taken from the balcony of the nature center. If Bruce would have turned 180 degrees, he would have been facing the ocean.

 

Rode our bikes down to the beach to do some shelling.

Time to leave Gulf Shores Alabama and start heading west.  Had a great time as always but it's time to hit the road.  First stop, as always, is the Red Shoes RV Park at Coushatta Casino in Kinder, LA.  Not much luck in the casino but it is a nice RV park, then on the road again.

When we are traveling with the camper, we prefer to stop at truck stops for gas, our favorites being Pilot or FlyingJ.   Don't know what it is exactly, but there was just something special about this Pilot in Louisiana

Our new digs in Gulf Shores at Gulf State Park, one mile from the ocean! We will be here till January, then heading west for new adventures 

Took a walk on the beach and put our toes in the sand.

 

So, it's time to start our 2016/2017 trip!  Started out again at my brother's "retirement" home in Hillsdale for Thanksgiving.  Had a few shots of Tennessee Fire to celebrate the holiday and the start of this years adventures!
