After leaving Page Arizona and making a 1 night stop in Winslow, we arrived at Sky City Casino campground on March 16.  What we did we do on St. Patrick's Day?…  I am not allowed to drink at the elevation we are camped at, so we might as well throw snowballs into a volcano! So off we went to visit the summit of Bandera Volcano and ice caves near Grant NM. After about a 45 min drive from camp and an hour hike to the summit at 8036 ft. we had a snow ball fight in 70+ degree weather!  We saw the ice cave, it stays at a constant 31 degrees all year round! Also saw what is believed to be the oldest tree in NM, an estimated 700+ years old. Cinder and spatter cone formations and many sink holes that are created when lava tubes collapse were also seen on our hike to the ice cave and volcano.

Almost there!
